Sarah Casey

Sarah has well over 30 years of experience.  In 2005, Sarah and her husband opened Waltzing Horse Farm (WHF) in upstate New York. She was able to continue the tradition of annual clinics that she grew up riding in with numerous Bereiters from the Spanish Riding School (SRS)  and was able to schedule former Chief Rider Andreas Hausberger to travel to NY to assist her in her training.  For 7 years, Andreas travelled every July to WHF for a week’s long intensive training.  When Andreas halted his travels to the US, his own mentor and teacher, now retired First Chief Rider of the SRS Arthur Kottas, filled the role.  For another 7-8 years Sarah had frequent training under the watchful eyes and vast expertise of Kottas.  After his retirement from overseas travel, his daughter Patricia Kottas moved into his role as the frequent instructor in person.  Sarah has her USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medals with scores earned on a number of horses she trained herself from the start on up through the levels. She completed her Gold medal competing in two shows at Grand Prix with her Lipizzan stallion that she has owned since he was a colt.  She works well with all breeds and abilities, riders of all ages and backgrounds.  Sarah is proficient in lunging, work in hand, long lining and also ground assist for the development of the lateral movements, piaffe and passage.
